Quadratic equation

    if a quadratic like" x^2+2x+1=0" has the same value of roots i.e x=(-1,-1) so is it true that the graph of this equation will be a loop coinciding on negative x-axis at point -1?and if it's true then it is said that the graph of a quadratic equation is parabola so why not in this case?
